Punjab Kings
With Mayank, Dhawan, and Bairstow at the helm, Punjab has put together a strong batting lineup this season. The trio has a lot of tournament experience scoring huge runs and can alter gears quickly depending on the situation. Last season, Punjab’s middle-order was a significant source of concern, as it misfired spectacularly, resulting in the club finishing sixth in the points standings. On the other hand, Punjab has added quality players such as Liam Livingstone, Odeon Smith, and Rishi Dhawan to help them achieve their goal this season. They’ve also re-hired Shahrukh to complete the innings with some firepower.
Despite signing Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar, Punjab’s bowling department appears behind the competition. Rabada will lead the effort with the ball, but if he gets injured, Punjab will be without a capable alternative. They brought in Nathan Ellis as the other overseas pacer. Still, his lack of IPL experience could backfire for PBKS, as it did with Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith the previous season. When it comes to the flaws, I believe the storey is the same as last year. In the centre of the order, there isn’t a single Reliable Indian Batter. If Virat and Kohli open the innings and Maxwell arrives at 4 p.m., RCB does not have a reliable middle infield hitter or an explosive player in the lower middle order who can help the team win three out of five close games. This has been their tale for years, and it will continue this year. This year’s weakness is their spin bowling without Yuzi Chahal. They have Hasaranga, but the four foreign player limit will damage them. I believe that bowling and batting cannot both be exceptional simultaneously.
